The Tim Cambias Memorial Scholarship
Mr. Tim Cambias was one of the founding board members of Reach for Excellence and continued to serve dutifully in that position for over 11 years. Through very generous support and constant advocacy, Mr. Cambias proved that he believed in the program and the success of its scholars. Established in 2018, the scholarship is awarded by committee vote to Reach for Excellence High School Senior young ladies and gentlemen excelling in scholarship, service, and the commitment to earning a post high school degree. The $2,500 scholarships are announced and presented at the summer Stepping Up graduation ceremony.
Measuring Our Impact
Reach for Excellence measures scholar growth through pre- and post-assessments administered after every summer session in Math, English Language Arts (reading comprehension and essay writing), Computer Science, and Science.
An independent evaluation consultancy conducts surveys and focus groups with students and families each summer, gathering feedback that consistently points to the same result: Reach students feel more confident, more supported, and better prepared for what comes next.

We are guided by a three-year strategic plan built around four pillars: Scholars, Alumni, Partnerships, and Impact.
Through this plan, we track Key Performance Indicators across academic growth, high school placement, family satisfaction, and our growing alumni network, benchmarks that hold us accountable to the students and families we serve.
