Expanding Horizons Through Summer Opportunities
Reach encourages scholars to pursue transformative academic experiences beyond their schools and communities.
We help students identify and apply to competitive pre-college, academic, research, and enrichment programs throughout the United States and internationally.
For selected opportunities, Reach provides financial assistance toward program tuition and travel expenses, including airfare, helping remove financial barriers that might otherwise prevent scholars from participating.
Reach scholars have participated in programs and experiences including:
- Pioneer Academics
- Yale Young Global Scholars
- Georgia Tech summer programs
- MITES at MIT
- Notre Dame Pre-College Summer Programs
- University of Pennsylvania summer programs
- Carleton College summer programs
- International educational experiences in South Korea and Japan
These experiences allow scholars to explore academic interests, experience college-level learning, meet students from around the world, and discover new possibilities for their futures.
Career Readiness and Leadership
Preparing for college is only one part of preparing for the future.
Reach scholars have opportunities to participate in Career Day, connect with professionals from a range of industries, pursue volunteer and leadership experiences, and apply for paid summer internships with Reach for Excellence.
These experiences help scholars strengthen communication, leadership, and workplace skills while connecting their education to future career possibilities.
From Reach Scholar to College Student
From the transition into ninth grade through the college application process, Reach remains a resource, a community, and a source of opportunity for our scholars.
Our goal is to help students not only gain access to college, but arrive prepared to thrive and pursue the futures they envision for themselves.
