Congrats to veteran Reach for Excellence teacher Debra Hood-Booker for being named Teacher of the Month, representing St. Peter Claver in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Debra is currently the Administrative Assistant, Art Teacher, and Director of the Extended Day Program at St. Peter Claver Regional Catholic School.

Here in Atlanta, Debra has worked extensively as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer with the Morehouse College Community Revitalization Initiative. Agnes Jones Elementary, assisted with the creation of curriculum and supervised program in conjunction with GA Tech graduate students and SEISMIC for 2015 Coding and Robotics Camp, and much more.

Debra Hood-Booker holds a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Alabama A&M University in Psychology, and has studied Secondary Education and Urban Planning at Clark Atlanta University.

We are grateful for the talent and knowledge she shares with the students in Reach for Excellence. Congratulations on this well-deserved distinction!
