Two Reach Grads Selected for Internships in Washington, DC
We are thrilled to share that Reach for Excellence alums, Anya Bibbs ’17 O, and Jahari Fraser ’14 L, were selected by the National Summer Learning Association to join the first class of Summer Policy Interns in Washington DC. This prestigious, all-expense paid internship is made possible by the National Basketball Association (NBA) Foundation. Interns participate in weekly leadership, networking, policy, and social events.
Anya Bibbs is currently an intern in the Office of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff from Georgia. She is a rising sophomore at Yale University. Before her Capitol Hill internship, Anya has worked as her residential college’s affinity group leader, an ambassador for FGLI high school students with CollegePoint, and the occasional graphic designer.
Jahari Fraser is currently an intern in the Office of Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer. He is a rising senior and The Posse Foundation Scholar at Bard College studying Global and International Studies with a concentration in Latin American and Iberian Studies. In 2019, he created All Pieces Fit, a civic engagement project that provides 1-on-1 support to students with Autism. He served as Bard’s Student Body President, a resident assistant, and as a senior interviewer and tour guide for the Office of Admissions. Last summer, he completed the Public Policy & International Affairs Fellowship Program at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College, and plans a career in International Development Policy.
