Reach for Excellence faculty members teach in the public schools of DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Rockdale counties, as well as independent schools. The overwhelming majority of the faculty returns each year to the program; 70% of Reach for Excellence teachers have worked with the program for five or more years.
Class sizes are small. For academic courses, the student-teacher ratio is 12:1. For recreational and supplementary courses, the ratio is 20:1. These class sizes allow Reach for Excellence teachers to focus on the needs of individual students and introduce innovative methods in the classroom. Sixty percent of Reach for Excellence teachers have advanced degrees.
